Castle Quay

Castle Quay is a prestigious, large scale, mixed-use development located at the heart of St Helier Waterfront in Jersey, and represents a unique experience for the island, bringing together retail, catering, entertainment, leisure, office and residential uses to create a new urbanised quarter.

Phase 1 comprises two podium buildings facing the new Marina with two, first storey centralised roof gardens. Materials for both the buildings and the public realm have been influenced by climatic conditions and inspired by the maritime character; locally sourced natural materials combine with more modern, robust features. Routes around the podiums themselves provide areas for socialising and passive recreation, and will be supplemented with a new outdoor gathering/performance space, to create a vibrant and attractive landscape that people want to live and work in.

Soft landscape design, in particular the choice of plant species has been carefully considered for their tolerance to salt, wind and full sun exposure, as well as their ability to contribute to a more comfortable microclimate.
