Project Description

Name – Langtry Gardens
Client – Confidential
Location – St. Saviour, Jersey

Langtry Gardens consists of a mix of private and social rented cottages and apartments and community facilities. Accommodation includes 100 one-and-a half storey private cottages for sale, designed in a traditional style and arranged around a series of individually designed courtyards; 32 Parish bungalows arranged in short terraced courtyards and streets; three centrally located apartment buildings with a total of 72, 1 and 2-bedroom apartments for rent; and a multi-purpose community building providing a variety of shared facilities for the development.

The main entrance to the site is from St. Saviour’s Hill and turns onto a wide, open avenue which rises gently upwards towards the main facade of the community centre. This building acts as a focal point for the entrance to the site and provides a backdrop to the important ‘civic space’ created in front. A secondary entrance is situated on the eastern boundary of the site at La Chasse Brunet. This leads into an informal square, bounded by the entrance to the apartments and the Parish bungalows on either side.

All residential units are designed to ‘Life-long homes standard’ with fully accessible ground floor accommodation.

This project was designed in conjunction with Dandara and Adam Architecture.
