HOUSE IN THE FOREST

House in the Forest is one of our recently developed private single-family houses. The essential of the project is the location, which is in a scenic rich forest in Gdynia, northern Poland.

Axis Mason architects carefully designed the functional layout of the property to optimise the internal arrangement and orientation on the site, to maximise views out of the beautiful scenery.

Designed for a family, the simple division between living, working, and sleeping is given by the levels, which finds reflection in the architectural form of the building.

The main body of the building is shaped by a combination of a single-level rectangle base with undercuts for the entrance and living area, topped with a classic barn with a sloping gable roof, where are bedrooms and bathrooms for household members.
The completed building is served by central heat pump heating and ventilation, providing cooling in the summer and heating in the winter, which also helps to significantly reduce carbon emissions.
