The planning application for Ann Street Brewery Regeneration Scheme has been approved.
The proposal for this mixed-use development comprises more than 250 affordable homes and nine open-market units.
To support the identity rooted in the site’s heritage the scheme will retain and restore five of the seven listed buildings on the site. This includes; plans to refurbish and extend the Grade 3-listed 1820s Sans Souci house into new headquarters for Autism Jersey, a microbrewery at the former home of Jersey’s beloved Mary Ann beer, and the sustainable re-use of the buildings at the corner of Ann Street and Simon Place to provide a café. These actions, alongside the network of landscaped walking routes, cycle paths and communal landscaped gardens to prioritise open space, will help to create a sense of connection and community.
The Planning Committee approved the development by four votes to one last Thursday with the scheme labeled a ‘triumph.’
‘It’s great to see this part of town being developed and this has been decades in the making.’
