Knights Park is a large-scale vibrant mixed-use development nestled between the folds of Robingate, Gregg’s and Lambert’s Woods. This new urban village utilises local vernacular references, from materials to design aesthetics, in order to retain and enhance the existing landscape.
The development comprises of 540 high-quality new dwellings and apartments, a primary school in addition to a multitude of retail and community uses. The neighbourhood is designed to create a series of linked landscape spaces through the centre of the site and allow visual and physical permeability throughout the community.
The large multidisciplinary design team was responsible for all aspects on this completely vacant site. The various different styles of public realm, from open street to intimate courtyard and close shared lanes provides character and setting for residents, and challenging coordination for the design team. Axis Mason were responsible for driving the residential unit design and approvals, unit detailing, positioning into the site layout and integration of the accommodation into the surrounding hard and soft landscaping.
