Le Haut des Cotils is a large detached family home located at Le Vieux Beaumont in St. Peter, Jersey. Extending over 3 floors and some 800sqm, the property will provide an expansive, open plan living, dining and kitchen space at the entrance level, together with a drawing room, home office, garage and ancillary spaces; 4 bedroom suites at the upper floor and a large entertaining suite and indoor pool at the lower ground level.
The property enjoys panoramic views across St. Aubins Bay and towards St. Helier and therefore the design concept is to create an overtly contemporary home, anchored to its hillside setting in its materiality, but to be open and expansive in order to maximise the opportunity of views out over the bay.
The design is conceived as a series of horizontal layers, rooted in a solid stone base with accommodation wrapped around a central glazed void and staircase. A large light well to the north of the generous glazed staircase connects the various levels and draws additional daylight into the lower floor. Opportunities for views outward and access to external terraces are maximised to enable all of the principle rooms to connect to the surrounding landscape.
