Le Petit Champeaux is a three-bedroom countryside home in St. Clement, Jersey. A simple palette of granite, white render, glass, timber, and metal were used for the building’s facades and the scheme is characterised by a traditionally constructed granite wall from which emerges a series of visually light-weight spaces.
A small garden pavilion housing the main living space and occasional guest accommodation above is located perpendicular to the main wing of the house. A frameless glass enclosure links the pavilion to the main building to reinforce the distinct nature of both elements.
The garden pavilion also divides the external spaces into an enclosed children’s play area to the rear and a larger, formal garden to the front, creating a more usable, functional series of external spaces.
