The primary aim of the Leale’s Yard development is to achieve an integrated, inclusive, high quality, safe and sustainable new urban environment, featuring a new public square which will act as the focal point of the area. The scheme also includes 13 blocks with a mix of apartments and houses, with commercial units at street level.
The mix of unit sizes suit a variety of residents and the location provides comfortable urban living close to amenities, accompanied by views which are enhanced by attractive facades. A sense of place is created through the inclusion landmarks, imaginative landscaping, public art, and the maximisation of existing features on buildings.
A further opportunity exists to create a linear park acting as a residential amenity on the western edge of the development which would improve the permeability of the site.
