The REGENERATION of the Le Masurier site at Bath Street includes 144 private apartments and a 121 bed hotel for Whitbread/Premier Inn, together with ground floor restaurant and retail spaces and a new pedestrian route linking the Town Park and Halkett Place.

The design of this highly CONTEXTUAL project has been carefully considered to respond to the surrounding urban fabric, repairing the existing streetscape at Bath Street and Rue de Funchal, whist establishing a new street edge to the pedestrian link from the Town Park that references the Character and form of Listed former Odeon Cinema opposite.

A key ambition for this community focussed REGENERATION project has been to create meaningful change within the public realm and at private amenity areas that would also significantly enhance the ecological value of this brownfield site. Features include widened footpaths at Bath Street and Rue de Funchal, alongside the new pedestrian link to Halkett Place with its integrated public art installation in the form of a  ‘bio rain garden’, street greening, podium and terrace level lawns with pollinator-friendly planting, and integrated bird nesting and bat roosting features to protect and enhance bio-diversity.
