The Colomberie Residential Development is a mixed-use regeneration scheme on a prominent brownfield site within St Helier town centre. The project reimagines a former coach depot and electrical store, contributing to the revitalisation of La Colomberie while delivering much-needed, high-quality urban housing for Jersey. 

Two contemporary buildings provide 29 new homes, comprising a balanced mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments, with active commercial and retail uses at ground level. These uses reinforce street life along La Colomberie and strengthen the development’s relationship with the surrounding townscape. Vehicular access has been relocated to Roseville Street, removing traffic from La Colomberie and prioritising pedestrian safety and movement. 

The buildings are carefully arranged to maximise daylight, outlook and resident wellbeing. Recessed balconies and terraces provide generous private amenity while enhancing façade depth and articulation. Set-back penthouse levels reduce visual mass and respond sensitively to the scale and grain of the surrounding context. A restrained material palette and refined detailing establish a contemporary yet locally informed architectural presence. 

Shared landscaped amenity spaces at podium and roof level link the two buildings, fostering social interaction and a sense of community. Green infrastructure is integrated throughout the scheme, including planted roof gardens, permeable paving and hybrid blue roof zones, enhancing biodiversity while improving surface water management. 

At street level, laser-cut metal screens to shopfronts and entrances reference the history of La Colomberie in the 1950s and 1960s, introducing a subtle layer of local identity. Flexible commercial floorplates ensure long-term adaptability, supporting the ongoing vitality of this mixed-use town centre development.
