Field H1219 is a supported housing development on the north-west edge of St Helier, forming a natural extension to the existing residential neighbourhood. The 1.26-hectare site is accessed from St John’s Road and establishes a clear and connected addition to the town.
The scheme delivers 59 homes for supported living, comprising 39 houses and 20 extra-care apartments. Developed in collaboration with Dandara, the proposals respond to the Bridging Island Plan, providing fully accessible homes.
Homes are designed to support changing needs over time. A mix of M4(2) and M4(3) compliant dwellings ensures accessibility and adaptability, enabling residents to remain in place as their circumstances evolve. The architecture is informed by clarity of layout, legibility of movement and ease of use.
A community hub and village square form the heart of the development, establishing a shared focus for residents and supporting social interaction. Landscaped courtyards, accessible play space and pedestrian routes structure the site, connecting homes to surrounding green spaces, the nearby school and local amenities.
The project has been shaped through ongoing engagement with stakeholders, defining a brief that balances accessibility, community and long-term resilience. Field H1219 contributes to the Island’s growing provision of supported housing through a clear and considered approach to planning and place.
