A key ambition for the REGENERATION of Leale’s Yard is to create an integrated, inclusive, high quality, safe and SUSTAINABLE new urban environment that will enable St Sampson and The Bridge to become a second ‘Town’ for Guernsey.

The scheme comprises over 400 new homes in 13 individual terraces and blocks and incorporating a mix of apartments and single family houses, together with a range of hospitality and retail outlets at street level that will activate the public realm and extend the use and accessibility of the development, re-connecting it back into the wider neighbourhood.

Buildings are arranged around a series of interconnected streets and squares that give priority to pedestrians and link back to The Bridge and St Sampson’s Harbour, creating a HOLISTIC, integrated framework for a new urban waterside quarter, with framed views and vistas that terminate in distinctive building features, key landscape interventions or public art installations.

The architectural form and detail of the individual buildings employ a restrained palette of familiar, CONTEXTUAL materials, with clearly articulated elevations that reference the order, rhythm and proportions of the surrounding neighbourhood in a contemporary form that adds to the sense of place to provide distinctive and characterful LIVING FOR ALL.
