Nomu, is an Asian fusion bar and kitchen designed for client Randalls with a brief to provide an unfussy, unpretentious, laid-back atmosphere, suitable for a wide range of patrons, including families.
The design is therefore intentionally relaxed, with a refined yet understated, elegant interior that balances warmth and texture. The spaces created are welcoming and comfortable, with carefully selected materials and a strong design language to define distinct areas within the simple, linear open-plan space.
The use of a rich mix of wood, metal, and textures, with layered lighting, plays a key role in setting the mood throughout the day. A combination of booth seating, communal tables, and bar seating allows for a flexible dining experience, while details like rusted metal cladding, slatted panels, exposed concrete and deep-toned upholstery add depth and character. Across the restaurant, bar, and restrooms, each space has its own distinctive personality while feeling seamlessly connected.
From the considered material palette to the subtle integration of branding, every element has been designed to contribute to an atmosphere that feels effortless yet refined. The result is a space that invites people to settle in, enjoy good food and drinks, and take in the details that make Nomu its own.
