Westview is a major new residential development located on the eastern escarpment above St Helier, with expansive westerly views across the town centre and St Aubins Bay towards Noirmont.
The project replaces the outdated southern bedroom wing and redundant conference facilities of the adjacent hotel with 124 new apartments arranged in two linked wings on either side of a large podium garden. The buildings and garden cascade from east to west to reinforce the stepped, landscaped form of the escarpment, whilst opening up new views west towards the sea for the existing residential properties located behind.
The stepped form is accentuated with splayed balconies and mix of darker metal cladding above lighter coloured render to the lower levels. The link building includes a generous club lounge providing social spaces for residents and access to the stepped courtyard garden with its framed view towards the spire of St Thomas’ Church.
Our integrated architecture and landscape service ensured a HOLISTIC design approach to maximise the REGENERATION potential of the site, building on the existing character and topography to create contemporary urban living with a unique sense of place.
